Over the past decade, I’ve had the pleasure of assisting international companies in expanding their reach to Latin America, establishing myself as a trusted Payment Specialist.
Throughout my sales career, I’ve had the chance to engage in discussions about payments with a wide range of businesses, including Viacom, Blizzard, Airbnb, Roku, Netflix, Booking.com, Fiverr, Tinder, Sony PlayStation, Pay my Tuition, Flywire, and many others. Some of them became clients that I had the pleasure of working closely with, while others taught me valuable lessons that I still apply today.
Throughout the past nine years, I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of the leadership and strategy teams of several rapidly expanding payment companies in Latin America.
Over the past four years, I had the exciting chance to establish Primeiro Pay’s San Francisco operation, which was later acquired by dLocal. As Head of Sales at Primeiro Pay, my main focus was on driving revenue and fostering business growth.
I thoroughly explored and established partnerships with the latest payment technology from gateways like Adyen, Stripe, Ingenico (now World Line), and ACI/Pay On. I also had the opportunity to contribute to the design of features that supported merchants in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile.
When I became part of dLocal as Sales Strategy Manager, my aim was to smoothly integrate and shift Primeiro Pay’s merchants into dLocal’s technology, API, and ecosystem. I collaborated closely with the Sales, Legal, Operations, Tax, and Product teams to ensure a seamless transition from Primeiro Pay to dLocal. Later on, I worked with Account Management to make sure the transition went smoothly.
Now, at PayRetailers, my main goal is to oversee strategic partnerships with different entities, particularly in the sports betting and gambling sectors. This helps us enhance our payment processing capabilities and ensure that all cross-border payment activities adhere to local and international financial and governmental regulations.
I have a wide range of responsibilities in this position. I like the ability to mix things up and try different things. I enthusiastically immerse myself in conducting comprehensive due diligence on potential partners, assessing their capabilities, and devising strategies to tackle challenges related to high-risk transactions.
I’m seeking partners who align with our company’s objectives and have the capacity to manage high volumes of transactions. Keeping up with regulations and compliance in the payment processing industry, particularly in the high-risk sector, is always a priority for me.
Discovering ways to enhance technology for better efficiency and security in transaction processing is something I find quite engaging. Oh, and don’t forget about developing contingency plans and strategies for handling potential crises or disruptions in high-risk transaction processing – it’s all part of the fun.
